53 km<\/strong>, passing through eight wards and communes including: Ben Thanh, Xom Chieu, Tan Thuan, Tan My, Nha Be, Binh Khanh, An Thoi Dong, and Can Gio (across Districts 1, 4, 7, Nha Be District, and Can Gio).<\/p>\nThe Ben Thanh \u2013 Can Gio Metro is planned to be built under a double-track standard, with a 1,435 mm gauge and a design speed of up to 350 km\/h.<\/p>\n
Phase 1 of the project includes two main stations: Ben Thanh and Can Gio. In Phase 2, when demand increases, the line may have four additional stations: Tan Thuan, Tan My, Nha Be, and Binh Khanh. The depot and Operation Control Center (OCC) will be located in Can Gio.<\/p>\n
The project has an estimated total investment of over VND 86.650 trillion, including around VND 37 trillion for construction, over VND 24.740 trillion for equipment, and more than VND 7.400 trillion for project management costs.<\/p>\n
The Ben Thanh \u2013 Can Gio Metro is expected to begin trial operation in Q4 2027 and enter commercial operation in Q1 2028.<\/p>\n
The line will use 8-car trains with a capacity of about 600 passengers. Trains will operate from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily, with a 20-minute headway. On average, three train pairs per hour will run in both directions, serving approximately 43,680 passengers per day, equivalent to more than 15.9 million passengers per year.<\/p>\n
Located about 50 km from downtown Ho Chi Minh City, Can Gio covers more than 71,300 hectares, of which 70% is mangrove forests and waterways. At present, its main connection to the city center is via the Binh Khanh ferry.<\/p>\n
With its large scale and modern technology, the Ben Thanh \u2013 Can Gio Metro is expected to become a key transport artery, significantly reducing travel time and unlocking new development potential for the southern part of Ho Chi Minh City, especially Can Gio.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
